Hilton Head is known for its many golf courses, so bring your golf clubs and practice your swings! And if you need to stock up on anything, you'll find both a Whole Foods Market and Kroger just down the road as well as the other stores and eateries at the Shelter Cove Towne Centre.

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in Hilton Head. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback.
