Tips to get the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Premium 2 BR Villa with Lagoon View - Sleeps 6 - 4 Free Bikes - Summer Promo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
