How to get the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Hilton Head:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Premium 2 BR Villa with Lagoon View - Sleeps 6 - 4 Free Bikes - Summer Promo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
