Our top Hilton Head rental property booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Welcome to Eleventh Heaven! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
