Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation home in the Hilton Head area:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Walk to Fish Haul Beach - brand-new home with multiple decks, AC & fast WiFi has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
