How to find the best vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best vacation home in Hilton Head:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Recently Renovated Coastal Inspired Villa, Short Walk to the Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
