Tips to get the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Hilton Head area:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from every room! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
