Booking the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the right Hilton Head vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Marsh-view Harbour Town condo w\/ shared pool - close to shops & restaurants has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
