Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Lovely Light and Bright Queens Grant Villa! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
