Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by having your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Gorgeous oceanfront beach home with private pool in Palmetto Dunes sleeps 22 has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
