In 1986 my family and I visited Hilton Head for the first time. In 2012 we realized our dream and purchased Evian 228. Since then we have done major renovations including all new floor and a new coat of paint in the summer of 2023. Previously we gutted and re-did the master bathroom, partially modernized the ''guest" bathroom, installed a new air conditioning system and upgraded the kitchen.
To this day Hilton Head remains our favorite vacation spot. Once you visit Evian you will know why. Whether it is golf, the beach, the pool or outlet shopping, Hilton Head has it all and Evian is the premier place to stay.
Not far from the main road, but surrounded by privacy (the fewest units per acre on the entire island) and a gorgeously manicured landscape a stay here wont leave you disappointed. The beach is but a short walk and an even quicker bicycle ride away. Or, if you would rather you can lounge by the pool or use it to cool off after a set of tennis in one of the on site tennis courts available for complimentary. If you are too busy during the day, the lighted courts allow for tennis late in to the nighttime.
Hilton Head Island has something to appeal to all ages. Whether it is playing Mini golf or appreciating one of the numerous kids friendly entertainers, or for adults fine dinning and after dinner entertainment, you will find it close to Evian.
Your vacation condo is equipped with a full kitchen featuring a brand new stove and dishwasher. If eating out is more your enjoyment there is a number of eateries within a 10 min. drive. Whether you are looking for modren dining or one that caters to families, you can find it comfortably right outside of the entrance to the resort (called plantations here in Hilton Head).
The unit features a freshly remodeled master bathroom (Dec 2022) with a walk in shower. Renovations also included a new vanity and wall and floor tiles.
Your two bedroom, two bath, condo sleeps six with a king size bed in the master bedroom, a queen and twin bed in the second bedroom and a roll away bed. It is furnished with linens, towel, pots, pans, silverware, and anything else you can think of to make your vacation worry complimentary to include a full size washer and dryer. Feel complimentary to utilize the high speed wireless internet access, watch HD cable TV on any one of the three TV’s in the unit (living room and one in each bedroom) or keep in touch with those back home on the complimentary long distance service supplied to you.
The shipyard beach, to which you have complimentary access, sports white sand, calm waters and a beach home for your use. There are beach chairs and umbrellas available for a fee, but you are certainly close enough to your condo to bring your own.
If golf is your game, you are within walking distance of the clubhouse for the 27 hole course that you overlook. You usually need no more then 24 hours notice to schedule a tee time.
It is all there at your door step.
One visit to Evian and you will come back time and time again

Rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. First Floor - Two Bedroom Golf - Course View Evian Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
