How to book the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dog-Friendly Villa w\/ Walkable Beach Access, AC, Deck, WiFi & Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
