Tips and Tricks for getting the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to book:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation home in Hilton Head:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dog-Friendly Villa w\/ Walkable Beach Access, AC, Deck, WiFi & Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
