Hilton Head rental property booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Tranquil first floor condo - Hilton Head Beach & Tennis C107 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
