Tricks and tips for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the best rental home in Hilton Head:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Condo Steps from Ocean with WiFi, Partial Beach Views, Heated Pool\/Gas Grills has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
