Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hilton Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful One-Bedroom Rental with Ocean, Pool, and Lagoon Views! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the property. • If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
