How to find the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
When to book a Hilton Head rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Amazing pools, hot tub, and oceanfront views are waiting for you at Villamare has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
