How to book the best Hilton Head rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Inviting family-friendly condo with balcony, central AC, & outdoor pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
