How to get the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath South Forest Beach Home has Private Pool and Beach Access Path has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
