Vacation rental tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath South Forest Beach Home has Private Pool and Beach Access Path has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
