Tips for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Condo with Beach Access, Shared Pool, Hot Tub, Ocean Views, and More has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
