Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summertime is high season in the Hilton Head area. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Hilton Head area:
- To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2 bedroom\/3 bathroom townhouse style villa in Palmetto Dunes with lagoon view has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
